Many report a release or what's we therapist call " cathartic moment" in therapy initially when one starts. it is understood that in order for catharsis to occur, intensity in emotional experience must increase, hence the need for release. In the moment of release, one can feel profound relief. Following a cathartic experience, there can also be an intellectual component, involving valuable insight & mindfullness gained through the process, leading to continued healing. The expectation is that the outcome of a therapeutic catharsis would be a positive, healthy change.
HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSIONS?
Session are typicaly between 50-55 min, but may be longer or shorter depending upon the treatment approach.

Information disclosed by clients is generally held as Confidential ( There are EXCEPTIONS to confidiality) required by law.

Chemistry between the therapist and client is key. Sometimes the Theraputic modality, just isn't a good fit. Just as you sometimes would change a hair stylist you like you may need to switch therapist or treatmnet to achieve success.
